Quintin
A very adventurous 16 year old boy, Quintin did it all: baseball, hunting, fishing, a true outdoorsman. Quintin was diagnosed with Metastatic Osteosarcoma and his dream was to go see a Chicago Cub game and stay in a luxury hotel like his favorite movie “Field of Dreams”. Thanks to Ryan Theriot, Quintin got to sit in the dugout before the game started, throw the first pitch at the game, visit the locker room and was given a signed baseball, Cub jacket and hat. He stayed in the Sheraton Chicago Hotel. Because of his love for shooting skeet an annual skeet shooting fundraiser will be organized in his memory and when asked where the proceeds to go, he named Dreams Come True. Quintin’s dream was granted the week of June 12 and on July 21 Quintin passed away. DCT received enough donations in his memory to do a dream for another child.
JESSI

If you are ever down and having a bad day, you need to talk to this young lady. When I first met her she was a little shy for about a second or two and then her little personality just started shining and shining. She was drawing pictures and may I add, she does a very good job for a 7 year old, I was very impressed. When asked questions, she would answer and then come back with a question for us, she was just so delightful, so sincere. When asked what she would like for her dream she said a pool, but then she said NO NO, a tree house. We said great, we never had that request yet, so then I asked her how big is her tree. OK, ready for this, she said I don't have a tree. I just stopped and she had the biggest smile. She is correct, she does not have a tree. But, Jessi will have her tree house, thanks to a kind builder who told me no problem and he is excited to build this for her. Jessi is still undergoing treatments, but to talk to her, she is just okay and enjoying life and taking each day as a brand new day and to live it, what a GIRL !!!!

Kynzer

I wish everyone could meet Kynzer, you just love him. When the DCT members walked into the room to interview him, he slightly looked at us and was not too talkative at first. But may I say, when he found out why we were there, the smile that appeared on his face made the entire room glow. He was so excited and he never stopped smiling and was so excited to go to Disney. He started mentioning all the Disney characters he wanted to see. You see, Kynzer was in the hospital at time, just a little set back. When the Disney packet was delivered to him, he asked his mom "Is that dream lady coming with us" I thought that was so cute, but he was told no, the trip was just for the family. I could talk with Kynzer all day, the things that he comes out with. If ever you are having a low day, just think of Kynzer because if you could talk to him, your day would be lifted. Mom and Dad said he had so much fun at Disney and it will be a life-time of memories for all.
Anna

Not only did Ms. Anna advise me how to interview her, she is also advising St. Jude on how to handle certain functions. I wish all of you could meet this little girl. I have been interviewing for some time now, but I must say I never encountered an interview before like hers. I arrived at her home, the family and I sat in their living room and Ms. Anna stood in front of me and began to tell me why I was there. I said you are so right little lady. She then turned to her parents and young brother and asked them to leave the room, this interview was for her and she could handle it. Well, I almost fell out my chair. So the parents and brother got up and just went out the door. I felt like I was talking to an 18 year old. She proceeded to tell me where and when she wanted to go to Disney, then here comes the best part. She told me that she knew I had to go to another appointment and she had a doctor appointment also, but she felt we had time for tea in her room. I may add her room is precious. When losing her hair, she went to her mom, pulled her pony tail out with her hand, gave it to her mom and said, "here you go,no more hair". Her personality will bring her and her family through the next years of treatment, even through the rough days.
Kaitlin

Where/how to begin. This little girl is a fire cracker. When we arrived to interview, she very well asked us where was our wands since we were Dream Fairies. Now she asked a few times during the interview, we told her that we will bring them on our next visit. Kaitlin is just precious and when visiting with her, you forget she is the dream child, her personalty is just so sparkling; we could have visited with her all night. When she was asked what would her dream like to be, she paused, looked at both of us and proceeded to tell us an above ground pool. She cannot walk, but she can in a pool and she would love to walk in her own pool. Well you know where our hearts went. We told her that would not be a problem and she can get her pool to walk. I wish you could have seen her smile, now that was priceless, even more of a smile than in the above picture. She said she will let her brother swim, who I may add is a very well mannered young man and loves and helps his sister. When we were leaving I told her I wanted one more picture which is the one with her and her brother. She very well told him where and how to get after she placed herself. She is just something, you just love her. When you think you have problems or having a bad day, just come back and look at this little girl because to her, there is nothing wrong and she is taking every day and making the best out of it and going forth, she does not have time to look back. Kaitlin's entire classmates, the principal, and her two teachers came to see Kaitlin's pool, along with TV KABL to interview her, of course she did awesome.
